Welcome toSt Joseph's Catholic Academy'Live Like Jesus'

Year 6

My name is Mrs Barratt and I am the Year 6 Class Teacher.

Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Parker and Mr Lomas.

Key Information:

We will be doing PE on Monday and Wednesday each week. However it is really important that the children have their full PE kit in School at all times.

Homework will be sent home on a Wednesday and should be returned to school on the following Monday.

Spellings are given out on Monday and tested on Friday. The spellings that are sent home are from the statutory spelling list for year 6.

We try to hear your child read individually, at least once each, throughout the week. It is still really important that you child reads at home, so please continue to hear your child read at least 3 times a week and record this in the green reading record.

We are learning to play the violin as a class. The lesson is on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure that all violins are in school on this day and encourage

your child to go over the skills they have been taught at home.

Learning:

The children will be assessed on the end of year expectations which support the New National Curriculum. To view these please click on the 'Curriculum' tab and click on the 'End of Year Expectations' link.

You are always welcome to discuss any concerns and we do appreciate time spent at home supporting children with their work.
