My name is Mrs Walsh and I am the Year 4 Class Teacher.
The Teaching Assistant is Mrs Peet.
Our Topics for the year are:
Autumn 1: Who painted the past?
Autumn 2: What was Matlock like 150 years ago?
The children will be doing PE on a Monday and Thursday afternoon therefore, they will need their full PE kit in School on a Monday. Please remember that after February half term the children will be going swimming on a Monday afternoon.
Mr Scully will be teaching the class on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
Homework will be given out on a weekly basis on Fridays and needs to be handed in on the following Friday. The children will also study a spelling rule in class, words containing the spelling rule should be practised at home. Please continue to listen to your child read regularly and test their times tables knowledge; by the end of Year 4 they should aim to know all of the timetables 1-12.
Your child will attend Forest School sessions in November. Forest School is an exciting way for children to experience outdoor education in a woodland setting. The sessions will be on Friday afternoons 1.10-2.40pm.
The children will be assessed on the end of year expectations which support the New National Curriculum. To view these please click on the 'Curriculum' tab and click on the 'End of Year Expectations' link.
You are always welcome to discuss any concerns and we do appreciate time spent at home supporting children with their work.
